The Village Commission is looking to appoint members to a Resident Review Committee. This Committee will be responsible for reviewing the resumes submitted for the Village Manager position and as a group, select ten (10) top candidates, which will then be forwarded to the Commission for their review and final selection.
If you are interested in serving on this board, you will need to be available to review the resumes that will be submitted to each board member on May 13th, and then to meet as a Board at a public meeting which has been tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 6:30pm, at the Log Cabin, 640 NE 114th Street, Biscayne Park, FL.

I want to add that we are in the same odd position this year as we were three years ago. An "outgoing" Commission is about to choose a Manager that will serve an imminently incoming Commission. I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now. I hope that any BP residents who are thinking seriously about running for Commission this year (declaring is in August!) will request to be on the search committee. I'm told there is no authorized route for such people to have special voting status, when the outgoing Commission makes its choice, but it would be great to have their prominent input, in way we can get it.

PS: I myself am not running for re-election. I have no idea and have not heard even rumors as to whether Bob Anderson or Barbara Watts is running for re-election. Whether either of them does or does not, we can wind up with a majority on the new Commission that was not there on the current Commission. You (who may want to be there) should have something to say about all this.
